Softball comes up just short in comeback vs West

The varsity softball team fell short to a come back win against Lakota West yesterday.  Down 5 runs in the 2nd inning the team scored in the 4th, 5th and 6th inning to cut the deficit to 1.  Juniors Lindsey Mitchell & Natalie Elliott and Seniors Taylor Delk and Rhi Hubbard all doubled.  Junior Jordan

Softball sweeps Sycamore in final series of GMC play

Senior Rhi Hubbard had 5 RBI’s and went 3 for 3 just short of hitting for the cycle in the Varsity softball teams 9th win of the season defeating Sycamore 14-1 in 5 innings.  Senior Taylor Delk also went 3 for 3 scoring 3 runs.  Along with Hubbard, Juniors Lindsey Mitchell, Natalie Elliott and Hannah Miller

Hubbard’s homer lifts softball, but team falls just short of a win over Mason

All 3 Seniors had 2 hits, but the team falls just short against Mason 3-2.   Seniors Natalie Barrett, Taylor Delk and Rhi Hubbard led the offense with 6 of the games 8 hit effort.  Hubbard’s solo home run in the 3rd inning put the Indians on the board.  Junior Natalie Elliott had an RBI knocking Junior

Athlete of the Week Apr 24 – Apr 30 – ERIN BURDINE (SR) – Softball

  “Erin is a 4-year starter and has been a strong presence on the field in 3 different positions this season – 1st, 3rd and catcher. She bats in the clean-up spot for us and is batting .378 with a home run, 4 doubles and is second on the team in RBI’s.”   Coach Brenda Stieger  

Athlete of the Week Apr 17 – Apr 23 – RHIANA HUBBARD (JR) – Softball  

“Rhi is a 3-year starter and roams our outfield.  She has become a powerhouse hitter leading the team in triples and 2nd on the team in average .(491), doubles (8), RBI’s (16), runs scored (28) and homeruns (2).  Defensively she handles centerfield with ease.” Coach Brenda Stieger

    “Taylor is a 2-year starter and our ace on the mound this season.  She has all 6 of our wins, which is the most in the GMC to date.  She also stands 2nd in the league with 60 strikeouts.  Taylor’s calm demeanor and leadership has been the difference in many of our wins
