The Boys Varsity and JV Golf teams have wrapped up their first two weeks of play and are off to terrific starts. Read more below to see how your favorite Indian golfers are performing.
So far, Varsity has played in 3 invitationals and one 18-hole quad match. While they struggled in their first outing, shooting a 341 at the Sycamore Invitational, the Varsity squad has stepped their game up over the last week and a half. On 8/6, they won their quad match, defeating GMC opponents Oak Hills, Colerain, and Hamilton by shooting a 325 at Walden Ponds, who will host this year’s GMC Championships. Sophomore Logan Murphy earned medalist honors with a 79. They followed this up with a 322 the very next day at the Anderson Invitational at Legendary Run, which placed them 6th out of 18 teams. They wrapped up their first two weeks of play this past Monday, at the Lakota East Invitational at Four Bridges CC where they shot 325 again, good enough for 7th out of 18 teams. They take on St. Xavier on Monday, 8/20 at Hyde Park CC.
The JV team opened their season on 8/6 at the St. X JV Invitational at Glenview. The team shot 367, which placed them 14th out of 20, and they were led by Sophomore Blake Johnson who shot an 83. Since then, they have reeled off 3 consecutive dual match victories, over Badin, Talawanda, and Loveland, all by 20+ strokes. They resume their season on Thursday, 8/23 against Oak Hills.
