Multiple Teams · Varsity Baseball drops a classic pitcher’s duel to Lakota West

Travis Rowland (1-4) took a no-hitter into the 5th inning, and only allowed 2-hits, as he dominated Lakota West’s line up. But unfortunately, Lakota West’s starter was just as dominant, as the Indians fall by the count of 2-0. Fairfield did not get a baserunner until the 7th inning on a Ryan Ziels single. That seemed to kick start things though, as Carson Cooper followed it up with a double, bringing the go ahead run to the plate. Derek Burns then hit a rocket shot liner, but right at the right fielder. West then retired the next two batters to end the attempted rally. The Indians fall to 8-5 in the GMC and 11-7 overall. The team gets a chance to get even with Lakota West at home on Wednesday at 5pm.”
